The First Proof of Sats Card

The very first Proof of Sats card holds a special place in the collection.

It is card #0000 from the Genesis Series. It contains an Alpha Uncommon Rare Sat: a satoshi that is both the first satoshi of a block (which gives it Uncommon status) and the first satoshi of a bitcoin (a characteristic known as Alpha).

But those traits are not the only reason this satoshi is special.

The block it comes from was mined on July 15, 2010, just a few minutes before the birth of Balthazar, the son of the founder of Proof of Sats.

That is why this particular satoshi was chosen for card #0000. And it also captures the idea behind Proof of Sats: to turn a precise fragment of Bitcoin history into a physical object connected to a personal moment in time.

Naturally, this card was passed on to Balthazar.
